5: Grapefruit Seed Extract
Grapefruit seed extract is renowned for its antioxidant properties and works quite effectively as a disinfected on the affected areas.
Its application is usually done in the form of a solution of few drops of grapefruit extract mixed with 2 table spoons of water. Apply the resulting solution on the wounds and lesions on the skin with the help of a cotton ball moistened with the prepared solution.
Note: Use of the aforementioned solution may cause itching and irritation on initial application, but do not let these observations stop the application of this extract.
You can also resort to intake of supplements rich in grapefruit seed extract, but as always, we will recommend consultation and prescription from a doctor before opting for this solution.
Garlic is renowned for its natural antibiotic properties. It can help ease off the pain and inflammation resulting from Impetigo.
For its application, cook 2-3 minced garlic cloves in 2 tablespoons of sesame oil. Allow the mixture to cool down before applying it on the affected area for 2-3 times daily until the symptoms wear off.
You can also try eating garlic cloves in the morning with an empty stomach or adding it in your daily diet (as much as you can without affecting the taste of your food). However, if you intend on taking garlic supplements, a consultation and prescription from your family doctor is recommended before opting for them.
